I turned 28 last month and received some very kind and thoughtful gifts from friends and family. So why not share some of them on the blog in a ‘what I got for my birthday’ meets ‘gift guide for your 20-something basic bitch’ sort of post – you’re welcome!
Classic beauty buys
For the beauty lover, a cult product like a Mac lipstick whether it’s a new launch or a backup of her favourite shade, will always be well-received. ASOS have a huge range of beauty brands including Mac and Nars so if you find yourself short of time to shop for a gift, definitely look here.
Another beauty idea is to pull together a selection of nail polishes, choosing a mix of shades, finishes or brands. The more options the better as far as nails are concerned!
For the weekend jet-setter
Miniture toiletries will always come in handy for trips where you only have carry-on luggage. They’re also a nice way to try a new brand or range before committing to a full size product and price tag. Brands like Origins and Clinique offer good all-rounder sets which are often work out as good value for money. I was given the Clinique Moisture Favourites set which included miniatures of the Moisture surge moisturiser, mask and eye gel, similar here.

For the jewellery magpie
I’m a magpie for jewellery and pieces made from sterling silver or gold-plated metals are a nice keep-sake – pricier but they will last longer than cheaper items.

Lifestyle and homewear
Anthropologie is a one-stop-shop for beautfiul clothes, accessories, lifestyle items and homewear. A browse online or in-store will easily inspire your gift hunting but my go-to’s include their initial mugs, candles or cult geode coasters.
In the blink of an eye, we’re in Pumpkin Spiced Latte season so it’s the perfect time to gift someone a reusable coffee cup. KeepCup offer a range of sizes and styles which are portable, well-designed and most importantly leak-proof. Reusable products are an environmentally friendly option and most coffee shops will apply a discount if bring your own cup so it really is a gift that keeps on giving.
Gin seems to be the millenial drinker’s spirit of choice so you can safely assuming a bottle will be enjoyed. You could pick a classic brand or look for a limited edition bottle, a new flavour or a set of minis. I was very pleased to receive a gin taster set as well as a bottle of Greenalls Wild Berry gin to add to my stash. And I suppose the same goes for other spirits – though gin is my go-to choice!
Thanks for reading, I hope there’s something suitable to treat the millenial in your life – or even to add to your own wishlist!

LOVE the geode coaster so much. And the Leo necklace (I'm a Leo too 🙂 – happy belated bday)
